- All shared spaces are outdoors, including the pools and terraces
- There are no rooms at street level, so guests need to be able to handle stairs
- The neighborhood has real sounds: children playing, roosters, music, neighbors socializing
- Rain and thunderstorms are common from May through November
- There is no dedicated parking, and street parking is rare
Organizers who want total silence or full control over ambient sound should look elsewhere. Organizers who want an authentic Mexican neighborhood setting, with earplugs provided just in case, will feel at home.
House Rules for Every Group
- Quiet hours run from 10pm to 8am
- Maximum 2 guests per room, and every participant must register
- Groups of 27 or more require pre approval from management
- No smoking or vaping inside rooms, terraces can be designated as smoking areas
- No animals of any kind, including pets and service animals
- Guests must be 18 or older
The Story Behind Casa Terza
Casa Terza is owned by Terry and Kari, a queer couple who first visited Puerto Vallarta in 2016 and knew almost immediately they wanted to build a life there. Kari’s health journey and Terry’s experience as a visibly queer Black woman in the United States shaped a clear vision: build a space where marginalized people, especially Black women, lesbians, non binary people, and trans people, could fully exhale.
The name Casa Terza comes from “terza,” a blend of the English “terrace” and Spanish “terraza,” a nod to the property’s 3 signature terraces.
Casa Terza was built for groups because Terry and Kari believe the best version of this feeling is experienced in community. Girls’ trips, retreats, and group stays are exactly what this property was designed around.
